Burger Yard: The Kosher Sports Bar Rehavia Finally Got

It is a Sunday evening in late winter and a Premier League match is going into its final ten minutes on the biggest screen in the room. Around the bar, a knot of guys in kippot are shouting at a Manchester City forward, half laughing, half pleading. In front of them, a smash burger arrives on a wooden board, the patty's caramelized edge catching the light, its cheese slick and molten across the top. A crackling basket of wings lands next, tossed in a glossy bourbon glaze that clings to the skin like lacquer. Somebody calls for another draft. A waiter squeezes past with three plates of chili loaded fries. Behind all of this, the flat tops hiss and the flames leap over the wings station. This is Burger Yard on Azza 18, and it is doing something that Rehavia has been waiting on for years.

The kosher observant crowd in this pocket of Jerusalem has watched the Talbiye Group's restaurants take over Azza Street for a decade, and mostly watched from the sidewalk. Burger Room, Junior Pizza, Talbiye, Wine Bar and the group's other rooms are all reliably good and reliably not kosher. Burger Yard, opened in February 2026, is the first room where the group's cooking and the neighborhood's kashrut standards finally sit at the same table.
